About Structural Integration - Structural Integration ("SI") is a client-involved form of deep-tissue manual therapy that spans 11 sessions. It facilitates a more natural and easeful positioning of the human structure within gravity by addressing the suspensory nature of human beings.
Structural Integration is effective at treating chronic pain syndromes such as back pain, hip pain, neck pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, TMJ, and headaches. Structural Integration is also an excellent modality for improving performance.
In Structural Integration work symptoms are addressed in relation to their root cause. As a result of going through this 11-session series, you will experience a sense of balance, decreased pain, and increased stability, mobility, and energy.
Structural Integration is ideal for people who want to experience lasting change in their body and for people who want to experience an increased sense of well-being. Structural Integration leads to an increased awareness of one’s growth as a natural process, and there is typically a corresponding increase in self-reliance and self-confidence.
All sessions last 1 to 2 hours.
Individualized movement re-education is incorporated with the hands-on bodywork to facilitate integration of the work and to place it within a real-life context.
Structural Integration works directly with fascia and the collagen molecule—rather than with muscles—to reverse the effects of the forces of gravity, stress, tension and trauma. The Structural Integration stroke dynamic renders the collagen molecule more fluid and thinner. This allows for a reduction of adhesions and for increased range of motion.Structural Integration creates lasting, profound, and progressive changes. The client’s structure is altered, compensatory patters are redefined, and a more biologically-designed being is re-established.
2) BioSomatics Movement Education is a somatic, rehabilitative approach to restoring voluntary control of the muscular system. BioSomatics directly addresses sensory-motor amnesia, a memory loss of how muscle groups feel and a loss of our ability to control them. BioSomatics utilizes a composite of non-strenuous movements that bring results quickly, enhances coordination, and reverses harmful, learned, adaptive responses.

In BioSomatics work the client experiences a felt sense of his/her weightedness in relation to movement. We use novelty to reawaken the brain to what is possible in the body. To this end BioSomatics utilizes a composite of slow, gentle, non-strenuous movements that bring results quickly, enhance coordination, and reverse harmful, learned, adaptive responses.
BioSomatics can be used as a part of your rehabilitation and/or as a way to regain proper function and use of the body—and to concurrently decrease pain syndromes as proper bodily function is being restored. Those who have compromised mobility. For those who have general conditions (separate from a specific pain syndrome) that negatively affect their ability to move fully and to be comfortable in their body, BioSomatics can be an integral part of an improved quality of life. These conditions may be due to any number of reasons, including neuropathy, joint pain, musculo-skeletal issues, and post- surgical situations. With BioSomatics there is no direct pressure on the body. The work is soft and gentle, and the student has full control over his or her experience. This self-determination and self-responsibility is an important component of the BioSomatics work.
BioSomatics sessions last 1 hour and are typically arranged over a series of 4 sessions.
3) Fascial Stretch Therapy
Fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds & invests all structures of the body. The problem is that fascia will thicken & shorten when any of your tissues are under stress from poor posture, lack of exercise, injury, surgery, disease or over-training.
While many therapies can help these conditions, only FST™ can completely treat inflexible fascia at the deepest level - your joint capsule. After we help make all of your layers of fascia become more pliable & hydrated then joint range of motion, muscle strength & flexibility immediately improves making it easier for you to train, maintain & feel great!
* Insurance: I accept PIP (personal injury protection) for auto accidents only. I am willing to provide the necessary paperwork so that you may seek reimbursement from your insurance provider.
