Acupuncture

Susanna Low-Beer, L.Ac. is a practitioner with a deep passion for the art and philosophy of Chinese Medicine. This she brings into the treatment room, where she finds full expression working with patients to achieve balance and health.

Susanna received a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine from the NCNM in Portland, Oregon, focusing on injury rehabilitation and stress relief, under the tutelage of Dr. Youping Qin of Chengdu University, China. She devoted herself to the study of massage, both Asian and European. A key piece of her education was (and continues to be) with Master Zhongxian Wu, with whom she receives training in Qigong and Daoist Healing Techniques.

A typical treatment with Susanna will leave you feeling extremely relaxed and at the same time rejuvenated and energized. She enjoys going deep with her massage work, focusing on the energy meridians of the Chinese Medical System to diagnose and treat many types of imbalances of the body. If appropriate, she will bring her skills in acupuncture into a session to further balance the energy system and relax the body and mind.

Five Element and Alchemical Acupuncture
Acupuncture moves blockages and relieves pain, restoring wellness.  Acupuncture also creates new energetic patterns that support the physical, emotional and spiritual changes we are making in our lives.  Pain, Stress, Insomnia, Depression, Anxiety, Grief, Migraines, Autoimmune disorders, Digestive difficulties and Reproductive Health issues can cause us to lose sight of who we really are.

What do you want more than anything?  What pain do you want to be free of?  How can you and your body, mind and spirit work more effectively in partnership?

Gerri Ravyn Stanfield practices acupuncture that is a combination of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Five Elements Acupuncture and Hari, a Japanese style of acupuncture. She blends acupuncture, massage, nutritional consultation and herbs with principles of Neidan (Taoist alchemy) and Jungian psychology to facilitate healing and transformation on a holistic level. Her specialties include the treatment of acute/chronic pain, stress disorders and sexual health concerns. She also works with women's reproductive health issues such as menstrual difficulties, pregnancy, and menopause.  She will help you to create a weight loss or smoking cessation program that works for you.  She has been in practice since 2002.

Holistic Counseling
Counseling is an invaluable tool for moving safely and consciously through grief, loss, fear, "stuck" places, or for resolving ongoing patterns that do not serve you. I provide a safe, confidential and unconditionally accepting environment in which you can explore yourself and your challenges.

I see the human self as an incredibly dynamic and complex system with a startling capacity to heal, grow and change. My approach to counseling is holistic, incorporating the mental, physical, emotional and energetic systems to address issues and blockages at a deep level and help you create real and lasting change in your life and relationships.

Contact me anytime to set up a consultation. The consultation is a no-cost session in which we'll talk about what you are wanting to address and decide together how to best help you reach your goal. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.

Vocal Healing

I offer sessions in the healing art of 'vocal vitality'.  This is an organic approach to improving your speaking and singing voice based on the principles behind naturalistic medicine (e.g., Ayurveda, and traditional Chinese medicine), and timeless shamanic techniques.

A session initially emphasizes breathing, toning, and getting comfortable with whole-body sounding. We then use vocalized visualizations (vocalization + visualization = manifestation) to help awaken your ‘Creation-body’, the living earth within each of us. An activated Creation-body inspires us with purpose, strength, and an authentic voice. Once that voice begins to reveal itself, I can offer a multicultural selection of mantras, chants, healing prayers, and songs of spirit to help give it form and direction. The ultimate goal is to apply this voice to setting new vibrational patterns that call in positive life changes. And to en-joy!

I also offer private Tai Chi Chuan lessons, and (relatively) regular group Creation-song circles in The Trillium Room at the Flanders House. For more information, please visit me at the web address above!

Individual, Couples, and Group Counseling

I offer mindful and somatic approaches to change, helping you overcome symptoms that may be thwarting your capacity to thrive. Find integration of mind and body to achieve optimal wellness, discover resources to reduce unnecessary pain, and explore your life from a place of aliveness and authenticity.

Mindfulness is a key component to how I work. Your (and my!) ability to be aware of the present moment without judgment can be a guiding force for healing, growth, change, and self acceptance. Accessing body awareness and movement in the process of healing also allows for fuller integration of insight.

I work from an interactive, integrative framework. The therapeutic relationship is pertinent to the healing process and choosing a therapist with whom you feel safe is imperative. For many this is the heart of their work: learning to be in contact and in relationship with one's self and an other.

I also coach couples who want to further explore their intimate, sensual, sexual, and spiritual potential. Couples coaching sessions are highly experiential; I offer tools to cultivate greater connection and authentic intimacy. I also assign weekly homework so the couple continues to cultivate their seed of a fulfilling relationship. I counsel all types and stages of relationship, and I am queer/trans/poly friendly! Browse my website to gain a greater understanding of how I work and contact me for an initial, free, consultation!

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese technique used for stress reduction and relaxation.  It promotes healing.  Reiki translation is "spiritually guided life force healing".  When ones life force energy level is low we are more likely to experience stress and illness.  If it is high we are more capable of being happy and healthy.  Reiki is laying on of hands.  It is a simple, safe and natural form of spiritual healing and self improvement everyone can use.  It always creates a beneficial effect and has been effective in helping virtually every known illness.  It works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.  Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit, creating many beneficial effects that include peace, harmony, balance and a state of well being.

Fascial Stretch Therapy . Structural Integration
Accelerated Change Technique

Accelerated Change Technique Created By Chad Anderson
A.C.T. is more than a massage. It's a dynamic blend of Structural Integration [Rolf Lineage], Fascial Stretch Therapy [F.S.T] and an influence of Tai Chi, Martial Arts, Dance & Movement Therapy. It’s been designed to be client-centered, integrative, and produce profound, functionally-effective change fast. A.C.T. sessions are typically 1-1.5 hours. Sessions include aspects of:

Structural Integration (SI) is the frontier of bodywork. Focusing on the Fascia (3D connective tissue web of the body that largely determines shape & flexibility) and it's ability to function in gravity. SI is most effective as series (10-11 sessions), but can be customized into a mini series or even a single session depending on your goals/needs. The work itself is deep and can be intense. It creates accelerated, lasting and improve performance in life.

Fascial Stretch Therapy(FST) is about getting BIG Gains, with NO Pain! Designed originally for elite athletes & dancers. FST is function & performance oriented. Allowing immediate change to occur that can be integrated into your daily life. Clients have described it "like having a month of yoga done to you, only better". FST is a wonderful way to prevent injury, relax, recover and improve performance in life.

A.C.T. sessions can be beneficial for:
* Personal Evolution * Chronic Pain Resolution
* Athletic & Work Performance * Injury/Trauma Resolution & Prevention

Swedish . Hot Stones . Energy Work

Audy has been a licensed massage therapist for more than 20 years and part of the Common Ground Wellness community since 1994.  A Reiki master, Audy attunes and harmonizes with her clients’ energy to find what is enlivening for them and to help guide them into a state of feeling relaxed, happy, and enthusiastic.

Audy believes that our nervous systems are very attuned to rhythm, and she combines soothing music and nurturing Swedish massage to slowly and patiently work deeper and deeper through layers of muscle to get down to the source of tension.  She specializes in creating a safe, trusting environment where she can help people find release not only physically, but emotionally.

Audy uses hot stone therapy to help people to relax and work through sources of tension.  She uses heated, carved body stones as a tool to bring the heat right into tense muscles, and she lays river stones on the shoulders, the lower back, or the back of the knees to bring warmth and relaxation to the body.  She draws upon various other techniques, including guided imagery, to tap into and acknowledge emotions.  The result – you leave feeling relaxed, renewed, balanced, and energized.

A review from YELP:
“I signed up for a 90 minute massage sandwich.  The soaking pool and sauna are amazing and I had one of the best massages OF MY LIFE (this is coming from a Nationally Certified LMT, herself) from Audy Davison.”

Lomi Lomi . Cranial Sacral . Thai Massage
(Also see Jackie under 'Naturopathic Care')

Jackie has been practicing as a massage therapist for 18 years.  Her interest in massage began after experiencing chronic pain following a bad car accident in her early 20’s.  In her effort to “get her life back”, she discovered the healing powers of massage.  The initial focus of her education was the treatment of pain and injuries. After discovering Lomi Lomi, traditional Hawaiian massage and healing, she realized the wonderful benefits that deep relaxation has on healing the body. She combines both deep and gentle techniques to help the body regain balance, relax and heal.

Lomi Lomi Massage  ::  Lomi Lomi means “loving touch” and it’s intention is to communicate “down to the bones” of an individual to stimulate healing.  The pressure may be gentle or deep, depending on the needs of the person.  This style is wonderful for treatment of injuries including sprains and strains, back and neck pain, TMJ dysfunction, sciatica and fibromyalgia.

Cranial Sacral Therapy  ::  This gentle therapy uses light touch to release bony restrictions throughout the body and enhance/balance the parasympathetic (“rest and digest”) nervous system.  It can be used to improve many different conditions including migraine and tension headaches, anxiety, ADHD, neck and back pain, and insomnia.

Jackie also does Lymphatic Drainage, Visceral Manipulation, Reiki and Thai Massage.

Jackie accepts auto insurance and PIP claims.  She is also on the panel of several insurance companies including Aetna, Regence, Providence, Kaiser, Cigna, etc.  You can use the form under the Insurance tab of her website to help you determine your insurance coverage.
